Philips quietly launches 45lm/W OLED lighting panel

New OLED panel developed in collaboration with Konica Minolta using Universal Display phosphorescent materials

OLED Lighting panel According to the product brochure an OLED lighting panel has been developed by Konica Minolta and produced by Philips and uses Universal Display phosphorescent materials.

At present no formal announcement has yet been made by either Philips or Konica Minolta.

This is an intriguing development within the OLED lighting industry and raises many questions such as:-

 

  • Will Philips and Konica Minolta formalise their relation in a joint venture?
  • Will the GE and Konica Minolta strategic alliance continue?
  • Will Philips become a licensee of Universal Display Corp?

On the Lumiblade website Philips are selling a new OLED panel “the Lumiblade Plus panel” and at 45lm/W is the world’s most efficient commercially available OLED lighting panel.
